I was incredibly fortunate to have had over 10 years with my last dog, Bob. After his passing, it was several years before I was ready for a new canine companion. Bob had been a rescue, so when that time came I searched adoption sites for nearly a year looking for the "right dog." I couldn't have described what the right dog would look or be like, but I knew the second I saw Lucky (then Lefty) on Pixie Project's site that he was the one.
 
Lucky is an out-going, furry bundle of joy that charms everyone he meets. Three years after adopting Lucky I decided it was time to expand our tiny family. My search was a bit simpler the second time around and ended in the form of an Instagram post from the Pixie Project.
 
CeCe (then Sissy) had spent time with the same foster as Lucky and is an absolute sweetheart. She takes a little while to warm up to new people and situations but once she's ready she'll melt your heart into a puddle. It's been a few months and Lucky still isn't too sure about his new sister but she adores him. While they're the same age, she is wearing down this former "only child" with the stubborn persistence of a younger sibling."
